It’s time to follow your passion without getting stuck in perfectionism, procrastination, and overwhelm!
Hey there Badass!
Welcome to UNperfectionism, a community for women who are ready to let go of the perfectionist tendencies that hold us back in business and in life.
You’ve found your way here for a reason.
I bet you’ve always dreamed of being able to ditch the stress of the 9-5 and never look back.
You want to use your skills and passions to help people.
And you want the freedom and flexibility to work from anywhere, make your own schedule, and take off on an adventure (or take a nap!) whenever you feel like it.
Wellllllll....
I’m gonna take a wild guess that you’ve been spending a lot more time dreaming than doing.
Am I right?
Maybe you’ve created a logo, printed some business cards, figured out how to start a blog, and posted a bunch of inspirational quotes on social media.
But your business bank account is still hovering around zero.
So you avoid putting yourself out there, and instead you sign up for yet another webinar or DIY program.
Meanwhile, this dream of yours is going nowhere fast.
You’re wondering how you’re ever going to leave your job, or you’ve already made the leap and it won’t be long before you have to dust off that dreaded resume again.
Hi, I'm Liz Medford!
And I get it because I’ve been there.
A year into launching my business, I had exactly ONE client.
Ooph.
I was ready to give up on “livin’ the dream.”
Two reasons:
1. I didn’t know how to articulate who I helped and how I helped them.
2. I was so terrified of failure and judgment that I stayed stuck in overwhelm and indecision and never really put myself out there.
You see, the thing is, even if you’re a card-carrying perfectionist like me and your overachiever tendencies have served you well in school and at work, being a solopreneur is a whole ‘nother thing.
It doesn’t come with an instruction manual.
There are no gold stars.
Things won't always go exactly as planned.
(But the good news is, it's OK because that's how you LEARN!)
And that’s typically not how we perfectionists roll.
We want everything perfectly planned, figured out, and guaranteed to succeed on the very first try or we won’t dare to put it in front of anyone.
Despite what you may think, perfectionism has nothing to do with hard work, attention to detail, or a healthy striving for excellence.
And perfectionists are NOT “perfect people.”
And perfectionists like us tend to overcompensate, overwork, and overachieve to avoid feeling shame.
(Either that or we get paralyzed by inaction because it feels too risky to even try.)
We perfectionists strive to be the best because anything less means failure, and our nasty inner critics pour on all the shame, guilt, and blame if we don’t live up to our own impossibly high standards.
Pretty shitty, huh?
Truth be told, I was stuck in that spiral most of my life.
And when I tried to launch my business, it got amplified 1000%.
Where we celebrate our failures, because mistakes are the fastest path to growth in business and in life.
I launched the Badass Business Bootcamp to help aspiring entrepreneurs like you overcome fear and procrastination and take action towards their dreams.
